Hello there, and welcome to our kitchen!
We should tell you that K&A’s kitchen is not just a room in the house. It’s more of a feeling, a way of being together.
K&A’s kitchen is a warm batch of cinnamon rolls when you come visit. It’s a midmorning latte, made to order, and homemade pizza on Saturday night.
It’s dropping a loaf of homemade bread off with the neighbors, because nobody doesn’t need a little extra love in their day.
In K&A’s kitchen, we spill stuff and don’t get bent out of shape. We try things that don’t work, and call it a cheap lesson. But just… don’t do our dishes. I’m weird about that.
Speaking of, well, me, I’m Ashley, the “A” in K&A’s kitchen.
I’m a registered dietitian, and from what I hear, RDs are pretty type A. Probably why I don’t want anyone doing my dishes.
My better half, the “K,” is my husband Kevin. He’s where the fantastic crazy creations like hummus waffles come from. He stays at home with our little munchkins, and in my 100% biased opinion, he’s the best homeschool teacher there ever was.
(He’s also not weird about the dishes like I am.)
I’ve been a vegetarian most of my life. Kevin has been not a vegetarian most of his life. In recent times, our eating pattern has hovered pretty closely around plant-based. It’s a good way to get creative with your cooking and fill up on the good stuff.
As you follow along with what we are cooking, we’d love to see what you put together in your kitchen. And if it happens to be one of our recipes, tag us on IG so we can see how it turned out. You can find us at whatscookingkanda
Happy cooking!
