Hello there, and welcome to our kitchen!
We should tell you that K&A’s kitchen is not just a room in the house. It’s more of a feeling, a way of being together.
K&A’s kitchen is a warm batch of cinnamon rolls when you come visit. It’s a midmorning latte, made to order, and homemade pizza on Saturday night.
It’s dropping a loaf of homemade bread off with the neighbors, because nobody doesn’t need a little extra love in their day.
In K&A’s kitchen, we spill stuff and don’t get bent out of shape. We try things that don’t work and call it a cheap lesson.
The K and the A
Kevin, my other half, is on the wild ride of being a stay-at-home dad. He is tasked with keeping the kids safe, fed, clean(ish), learning, sharing, and alive. On top of all that, he maintains the house, yard, garden, and any home projects that emerge. He is the inspiration behind many of the recipes in K&A’s kitchen, and he knows how to take any meal from a 5 to a 10.
Meanwhile there’s me, Ashley. Registered Dietitian. I work primarily with the geriatric population, and we are daily reminded how fine a line there is between pediatric and geriatric populations. If you know, you know.
Together Kevin and I dream up recipes and food concoctions, and I route them to the interwebs.
What’s on the menu?
I’ve been a vegetarian most of my life. Kevin has been not a vegetarian most of his life. He still eats meat and I still don’t, but we both keep our plates pretty plant-heavy.
As you follow along with what we are cooking, we’d love to see what you put together in your kitchen. And if it happens to be one of our recipes, tag us on IG so we can see how it turned out. You can find us at whatscookingkanda
Happy cooking!
